About TCNJ

About the Department, School, and College
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at TCNJ is part of the AACSB-accredited School of Business, which focuses on high-quality undergraduate education grounded in a liberal arts tradition. The department offers a rigorous curriculum of ten accounting courses built on the school's business core, integrating theory with current practice and applications in areas such as auditing, tax, financial accounting, and information systems. Faculty are full-time teacher-scholars engaged in research and dedicated to mentoring students.
Students benefit from small class sizes, experiential learning opportunities-including an audit lab and study abroad-and a strong record of success in CPA exam performance and job placement. The department supports student-faculty research collaboration and prepares students for careers across public, corporate, nonprofit, and governmental sectors.
The School of Business enrolls approximately 1,300 students, including a small MBA cohort, and emphasizes civic responsibility, global awareness, and interdisciplinary learning. Faculty are expected to contribute to teaching, research, and service in alignment with TCNJ's teacher-scholar model.

Position Overview:
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at TCNJ invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems with a specialty in Accounting to join our community starting in August 2026.
Applicants with teaching interests in all areas of accounting and information systems are encouraged to apply.
We are interested in candidates whose research and teaching will connect and integrate with other disciplines and who have the potential to collaboratively contribute to interdisciplinary curricular and scholarly efforts. Candidates should be committed to inclusive excellence in higher education, demonstrated, for example, through culturally responsive course design and pedagogy, equity-minded student engagement and mentorship, and cultivating intercultural competencies needed for meaningful citizenship.
Qualifications:
Required:
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to connect information technology with accounting concepts in both classroom and professional settings.
- The successful candidate will have earned, or be near completion of, a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or related disciplines from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABDs will be considered.
- Professional certification (such as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant) is a plus.
- The successful candidate must commit to publishing in peer-reviewed journals, advise and mentor students, and engage in service to the college community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who apply data analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to accounting, auditing, or financial data in applied or regulatory contexts.
