Finance Assistant Manager - MAS regulatory reporting - banking - hybrid working

An established joint venture bank with a specialism in financial markets and commodities. They have a global presence, headquartered in London with offices in New York, Shanghai, and Singapore - and a headcount of 1000 worldwide. The Finance team is structured into regions and key functionalities. For Singapore, the Finance function provides management and reporting of financial results, corporate tax, and GST - as well as control functions across balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation.

Your new role

As Finance Assistant Manager, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will have the high-quality attention to detail essential in daily finance operations. Responsibilities will include:

MAS Reporting - prepares and reviews periodic regulatory returns to MAS for the Singapore Office, including:

• MAS Notice 610 Submission of Statistics and Returns
• MAS 649 Minimum Liquid Assets and Liquidity Coverage Ratio
• Quarterly Income & Expenditure Statement
• Annual MAS Survey of Services
• Prepare monthly financial checklist for the Singapore Branch to ensure compliance with MAS regulations and requirements
• Update daily MAS monitoring control (Capital Funds, Minimum Liquid Assets, Minimum Cash Balance and Asset Maintenance monitoring)

MIS reporting:

• Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation via Cadency
• Prepare Plato adjustment template for SG
• Prepare Month-end table for SAP exchange rate
• Prepare RCC upload file information for London consolidation
• Prepare the monthly Asia BU cost report and perform variance analysis of actuals vs budget for delivery to the Department Head

Others:

• Assist in preparation of monthly tax computation file and year-end return for the Singapore Branch and post the corresponding tax provision entries
• Assist in system implementation projects, reports automation and analysis
• Undertake ad hoc assignments and meet tight deadlines
• Covering the duties of other team members while they are out of office

What you'll need to succeed

• Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of MAS reporting
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the banking / auditing field
• Experience with SAP & SAP Concur system would be an advantage
• Excellent spreadsheet skills - proficient in pivots and advanced formula (Excel)
• Meticulous, self-motivated, possesses initiative, is independent and a team player
