OverviewThe Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship is in its sixth year and aims to grow the game of golf by providing a platform for players to compete against the best juniors in the Country in a true, open qualifying series. The National Championship is televised on Golf Channel during a 2-hour show in December. These players will have a chance to be recognized on a national stage, ultimately increasing their chances of being recognized by college coaches around the country and fulfilling their dreams of playing college golf.
The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship is open to boys and girls ages 10-18 who will compete in one of four age categories.
POSITION: Golf Tournament Operations
LOCATION : Office is based out of Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Florida (20 minutes from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

DESCRIPTION: The Notah Begay III JGNC is looking for a qualified candidate to run, manage and execute Jr Golf events within a designated market area of the United States. The candidate will be trained on the job and be expected to be self-sufficient within a 3-month time frame. The candidate will work closely with the Managing Director in the office as well as the entire team. This position will require the candidate to multi-task on any given day. The individual will be responsible for setting up and running tournaments as well as promoting/marketing to parents, players, and coaches throughout the areas that these events will take place. This position requires a detail orientated, self-starter that wants to build relationships and drive results. You will learn every aspect of the golf business and the junior golf space. You will be involved with entrepreneurial business ventures and must be comfortable in making outbound phone calls, database email management, and social media support. You will also be on site at your events and must be able to travel to run and execute your events on site.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a bachelor's degree or related experience
- One to two years of golf administration or golf operations experience preferred but not required.
- Must be willing to travel and work long hours at times, which may include overnight or weekend travel during golf season
- Must be open to an entrepreneurial environment
- Basic golf knowledge is required, and rules of golf knowledge is preferred but you do not have to be certified
- Strong communication skills and the willingness to build relationships with partners and parents
- Strong work ethic and desire to excel in the sport industry business
- Basic Computer skills
- Reliable transportation necessary
- Able to multitask and work on numerous projects at once
- Able to relocate to Jacksonville/St. Augustine area on your own or reside in Jacksonville/St. Augustine and work in the office when not traveling.
SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applicants must be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and must be able to work unsupervised. He/She must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image at all times. He/She is expected to have exceptional customer service and possess skills including, but not limited to: outbound follow up calls to parents/golf associations, database / CRM management, some PowerPoint development, market research, social media skills, on-site golf course execution and managing of golf tournaments.
BENEFITS:
- Salary ranges from $45,000 - $50,000
- All travel expenses will be covered by the company
- Full-time position with paid vacation time
- Company benefits include partial contribution towards health insurance and competitive bonus structure based on performance
