Position Overview
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, while also supporting recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, and human resources administration. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of human resources best practices, and the ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will help drive human resources initiatives that improve processes, align with strategic goals, and enhance the employee experience while supporting a wide range of human resources activities at the Centre.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, collaborate with hiring managers on workforce plans, and represent the company at recruitment events
- Support department leaders to ensure a successful onboarding experience
- Facilitate new hire orientation sessions
- Manage training records, coordinate sessions, and deliver HR systems training for managers
- Maintain personnel files, generate reports, and assist with performance management tracking
- Act as primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, collective agreement administration/interpretation
- Participate in the development and delivery of employee engagement initiatives and special projects, helping foster a positive workplace culture
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or Coordinator role
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of labour legislation, and human resource best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at various levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams), and HRIS systems
- Adaptable team player with a high degree of initiative
- Ability to manage confidential information in a professional manner
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and shifting focus as priorities change
- Experience in a unionized environment is considered a strong asset
This is an on-site position, requiring the successful candidate to work in the office full-time.
