Drivers Union is seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to represent gig workers in arbitration and other legal proceedings. This position will require: 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Advocate on behalf of workers in deactivation and arbitration proceedings; engage in pre-hearing dispute resolution and discovery; prepare cases for hearing and present written and oral argument.
Manage own case load including conducting investigations, legal research and strategy, drafting legal memos, case presentation and enforcement proceedings. 
Along with all employees, help maintain a positive, respectful, welcoming, professional and culturally competent work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Admitted to, or willing to apply for admission to, the Washington State Bar. Experience with worker-side labor or employment law is a plus.
Must have ability to investigate and litigate cases independently and collaboratively; ability to timely handle multiple cases at once and manage stressful situations.
Ability to advocate and negotiate effectively on behalf of drivers. 
Experience representing or working with immigrants, low-wage workers and vulnerable populations. 
Particular consideration will be given to candidates with fluency in language(s) other than English, and community leadership in the region’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities.
